UNEP-DHI will be part of the associated event “The Water Continuum: Uniting Climate, Nature, and People through the flow of the water cycle” on 8 December 2025, at Seventh Session of the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA-7).
This session will bring together leading policymakers, scientists, Indigenous representatives, and practitioners to examine integrated, science-to-policy approaches that can strengthen protection of the water cycle. Discussions will explore UNEP-led initiatives, progress on resolution UNEP/EA.6/13, and priorities ahead of the UN 2026 Water Conference.
With opening remarks from UNEP’s Ecosystems Division and interventions from the European Commission, Indonesia, South Africa, Peru, UNECE, Azerbaijan, UNEP-DHI, and Indigenous experts, this event will be a dynamic and evolving conversation. A closing Q&A will invite reflections on implementation, partnerships, and resource mobilization.
The event will take place from 15:30–17:00 EAT, at the Mt. Kilimanjaro Room, UN Recreation Centre, UNON (Nairobi, Kenya), or can be attended online on UNEP’s Youtube channel.
Whether you are joining the livestream or attending in person, we look forward to advancing this conversation with you at UNEA7!
