The 2025 IWRM-related progress in Africa Technical Note aims to inform regional consultations, and global consultations during PANAFCON 3, on the development of the post-2025 Africa Water Vision and Policy, following the end of the Africa Water Vision 2025 period. It provides an overview of the findings of the status and future direction of Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) implementation, Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), Climate resilience, and financing for infrastructure in Africa as of 2025. The findings are based on SDG indicator 6.5.1 data. The Note highlights the progress made, the challenges that remain, and recommendations to achieving sustainable water management across the continent, towards the African Union’s Agenda 2063.
