This chapter on SDG 6 Clean Water and Sanitation from “Sustainable Denmark. With the SDGs towards 2030” provides a status overview of the extent to which Sustainable Development Goal 6 (SDG 6) on water has been achieved in Denmark. In addition, it assesses the most significant challenges and outline possible actions to enable Denmark to meet all targets. Finally, the chapter describes Denmark’s interaction with global water challenges, both in terms of consumption of and contributions to other countries’ water resources (virtual water), and through Danish companies’ ability to deliver effective and sustainable water technology solutions to other countries.
