Reflecting on a decade of implementation, the UN SDG 6 Synthesis Report 2026 assesses progress towards ensuring the availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all by 2030. It explores how SDG 6 has driven action at both national and global levels, strengthened policy coherence, and fostered inclusive dialogue across sectors and stakeholders.

 

Looking ahead, the report asks ‘what comes next?’. It outlines how the momentum generated behind SDG 6 can shape the water and sanitation agenda in the years leading to 2030 and lay the foundation for the vision that follows.
