The UNEP-DHI Partnership Centre on Water and Environment (UNEP-DHI Centre) is part of UNEP’s network of approximately 20 Centres of Expertise that deliver specialized technical, scientific, and policy-relevant work aligned with UNEP’s mandate, with the UNEP-DHI Centre serving as a centre of expertise in water resources management.
The UNEP-DHI Centre has been in operation since 1996 and co-funded by UNEP, Danida and DHI since 2001.
The centre is hosted by DHI, an independent, international advisory and research organization established in Denmark. DHI operates as a not-for-profit foundation, and is affiliated to the Danish Academy for Technical Sciences (ATV) and is an approved Technological Service Institute. Any profits re-invested in further technology development and knowledge dissemination. With over 60 years of work experience from more than 115 countries, DHI is internationally acknowledged for its expertise in hydrological modelling, water resources management and decision support systems.
The UNEP-DHI Centre operates by drawing on DHI’s technical expertise in water and project implementation.
