Built for Drought Resilience: Proposing a Global Drought Resilience Capacity Index

Built for Drought Resilience proposes a Drought Resilience Capacity Index (DRCI) to help countries assess their capacity to anticipate, prepare for and adapt to drought. Through a concise set of indicators, the proposed index could help identify strengths and gaps in national systems and support mroe proactive, risk informed policy and investment.

Developed through consultations with governments and experts from over 65 countries, the report provides a starting point for further discussion, piloting and refinement of the approach.

The report was prepared by the United Nations Environment Programme, led by the UNEP DHI Centre, and funded by the European Union.
