New Online course on Dimensions of the Water-Energy-Food-Ecosystems Nexus

In collaboration with Cap-Net, and Global Water Partnership–Mediterranean (GWP-Med), the UNEP-DHI Centre is launching the course Dimensions of the Water-Energy-Food-Ecosystems (WEFE) Nexus Management. This online, free and self-paced course offers four modules to deepen the understanding of specific Water-Energy-Food-Ecosystems (WEFE) Nexus interlinkages and actively promote joint solutions that deliver cross-sectoral benefits across diverse geographical, environmental, and socio-economic contexts.

2026 edition: Online course on Sustainable Lake Management

In collaboration with UNEP, Cap-Net, and ILEC, UNEP-DHI Centre is launching the 2026 edition of its Sustainable Lake Management (SLM) course. This online, free and self-paced course offers five modules to improve the understanding of fundamental principles of SLM and to equip participants with tools to develop, implement and refine a participatory lake recovery plan that promotes the sustainable use of lake resources.

2026 edition: Online course on IWRM for Climate Resilience

Integrated Water Resources Management for Climate Resilience, developed by UNEP-DHI in partnership with Cap-Net UNDP, UNEP Copenhagen Climate Centre, UN-Habitat, Global Water Partnership and UNDP, is an online, free and self-paced course that offers five modules designed to help practitioners plan climate resilient measures in the water sector.

2026 edition: Online course on Water Pollution Management in Achieving SDG Target 6.3

The continued deterioration of water quality poses one of the biggest threats to human and ecosystem health worldwide. This free online course provides participants with key insights on water pollution drivers, stakeholder involvement, and strategic planning for pollution prevention and management needed to tackle this issue.

2026 edition: Online course on Integrated Drought Management (EN/FR)

In partnership with Integrated Drought Management Programme, Cap-Net UNDP, WMO, and the Volta Flood and Drought Management project, UNEP-DHI developed an online course on Integrated Drought Management: Monitoring and Early Warning. It is designed to improve understanding of proactive integrated drought management and introduces available tools for drought monitoring and forecasting.

2026 edition: Online course on gender and Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM)

Gender and Integrated Water Resources Management, developed in partnership with UNEP-DHI, Cap-Net UNDP, and Gender Water Alliance (GWA), is an online, free and self-paced course that offers six modules designed to help practitioners integrate gender in all aspects of sustainable water management.

The 2026 SDG 6.5.1 Reporting Training

The SDG 6 IWRM Support Programme has developed a freely accessible SDG 6.5.1 Reporting Training. The course is aimed at facilitators interested in organising a multi-stakeholder consultation process on SDG indicator 6.5.1.
