This report investigates the potential of nature-based solutions (NbS) to help build smart, sustainable, and resilient cities. Building on extensive research and experience from G20 countries, it provides guiding principles for effective multilevel governance of nature-based solutions in smart, sustainable and resilient cities, accompanied by actions and considerations that can help deliver those principles. It was produced by UNEP in close collaboration with the Italian Presidency of the G20.
