The State of Global Water Resources report series published by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) offers a comprehensive and consistent overview of water resources worldwide, highlighting the influence of climatic, environmental and societal changes on the hydrological variables based on increased observational data and modelling results. Following the successful launch of the pilot report last year, the 2022 edition in the annual series has been extended to include variables describing groundwater, evapotranspiration, soil moisture and reservoirs, along with an overview of the major extreme hydrological disasters around the globe in 2022.
