The Asian Water Development Outlook (AWDO) 2025 by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) is a comprehensive assessment of the state of water security in Asia and the Pacific. Assessing 50 economies, AWDO uses five key dimensions to measure water security and create an evidence base that guides national planning, investment decisions, and policy reform. Together with Global Water Partnerships (GWP), the UNEP-DHI Centre contributed insights on water governance for enhanced water security in the context of SDG 6 in the region, as well as to the country assessments of Bangladesh, Cambodia, Nepal, Pakistan and Tajikistan – building on results from the SDG 6 IWRM Support Programme.
